The 3U MXP508 PXIe PCIe 5.0 NTB Peripheral Module is designed to create a flexible and scalable PXIe fabric solution using PXIe racks and components. The MXP508 enables the CPU module in the PXIe backplane to communicate and share IO devices with other PXIe systems or standard Servers. Scaling out to larger systems with  other PXIe chassis requires the MXP526 PXIe switch module.

PCI Express 5.0

The MXP508 is designed for PCIe 5.0 link speeds in the backplane and via the front panel PCIe cable port. It will auto negotiate to the highest speed supported (PCIe Gen5 - Gen1) by each component connected to individual port. This allows you to mix various generation of equipment without scarifying performance between high speed components.

PCIe Clustering / Networking

The MXP508 supports Dolphin’s extensive PCI Express Software libraries to create a powerful and reliable communication solution for applications that benefit from an ultra-low latency, high performance cluster interconnect. Dolphin’s PCI Express Software enables standard and embedded Linux and Windows network applications to benefit from PCI Express performance without modification.

The MXP908 can than be used to connect PXIe systems and allow CPU to CPU and IO Sharing between racks. The MXP508 can also be used in combination with the MXH530 PCIe Host Adapters to establish connectivity to standard servers. The MXS524 1 U Rack mount switch enables scale out to larger PCIe networks.

Reflective Memory

The MXP508 supports large reflective memory configurations and multiple multicast groups. Multicast can be utilized between CPU boards and IO devices in the chassis as well as to external equipment via the PCIe cable port.

PCIe Cable ports

The MXP508 module has a physical quad SFF-8614 PCIe cable connector to allow connectivity to external PCIe devices, but only the two upper ports are available for connectivity. Both ports can be used as two independent x4 links or one x8 link. Each SFF-8614 connector has a protected 3.3V supply to support AOCs.
